Autumn Turkey Meetings 2017
The NFU in the North West has again organised the Autumn Turkey Marketing Meetings to be held in October. The meetings are free to attend and aim to cover the different facets involved with turkey production. Avivets director, William Garton, has been asked to attend as guest speaker to cover health updates and current issues in seasonal turkey production. In addition, the meetings provide a really fantastic occasion to catch up with fellow producers, meet figures from the industry, and develop new contacts. It’s also a great opportunity to discuss any issues, problems or ideas you may have.
The meetings will cover the following:
- Market intelligence: We have gathered key data from various industry sources and will be presenting some of the essential statistics on farming costs in order to help you respond to the market.
- Feed issues: For Farmers will be providing a detailed overview of the feed market.
- Get interactive with social media: Bring along your smartphone and we will aim to help you get set up on social media. We will be demonstrating how fellow producers have used social media help promote and sell their turkeys.
- Guest speaker – William Garton, Avivets. William is a local poultry vet who has recently set up his own practice Avivets in Knutsford. He will be speaking to us about ensuring your turkeys are in the best possible condition. William will be giving us a turkey health update based on the issues he is seeing on the ground.
Tuesday 3rd October - Heyrose Golf Club, Tabley, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 0HZ
Thursday 5th October - Garstang Golf Club, Bowgreave Drive, Preston, Lancashire. PR3 1YE
